Food Web Data

Sim: 1

Our goal was to have all the organisims survive 100 years in our enviroment. First we chose the organisims to place in our enviroment and decided what the herbivores ate. Next we ran the test and looked at the data and discovered that everything survived. Then we recorded the data into the journal. Finally we created graphs on excel.

The goal was to have all the organisims survive and thrive in the enviroment. First we scelected the organisims and decided what they ate. Next we ran the test and analyzed the data. Next we found out that some of the organisims dieded off, so we quickly made changes and ran the test and all the organisims surivied. Finally we wrote down the data that we had. I observed that Plant  B thrived because the herbivores were eating Plant A. I also observed that Omnivore A  struggledd they were eating Herbivore A and B and since they were both eating Plant A so then Plant A’s number started geting low, so it was a big chain reaction.

Wrighting assignment Save the O.E.C

Save the Wetlands

By: Ethan Evans

A water droplet fell off the nose of a 5th grade boy named Ethan, he had blue lips that are like a blueberry and he was shivering, his body covered with goose bumps, Mr. D class was just outside for 3 hours and had finished eating lunch and are now loading into the cars to go to O.E.C. “I’m so excited to go to the Outdoor Education Center,” I excitedly exclaimed.                                                                                                                                                               “ I can’t wait to play flashlight tag,” Trenton exclaimed.                                                                                                                                                      “Alright, is everyone ready to go?” Mr. D asked.                                                                                                                                         “Ya,” The whole class shouted.                                                                                                                                               “Ok then let’s go!” Mr. D commanded.

After ride for hours on the mucky bumpy dirty road we finally got there. “Finally, were here, “I said.                                                                                                                                                                                  “I call top bunk!” Both Trenton and I shouted.                                                                                                   After everyone unpacked Mr. D told everyone that we were going to the river edge wetland for our stream testing. After walking for what felt like a 5 hours we finally got to Swanson River. But when we got there we saw some big excavator and some fishermen standing by it.                                               “What’s happening?” Mr. D asked.                                                                                                                                                                         “Were tearing out these wetlands because it’s snagging and snapping our line,” one of the fishermen said.                                                                                                                                                                        “What!” The whole class screamed.                                                                                                                    “You can’t do that,” Trenton wined.                                                                                                                         “Oh yes we can, we just got permission from the mayor.” One of the fishermen snapped.

After seeing what fishermen were about to do to that wetland we thought that it was time for this wetland, we thought that was it for the wetlands then some hunters came to the O.E.C. “We want to use O.E.C cabins to sleep in for hunting,” the hunters explained.                                                                          “Oh come on, seriously? “ I asked.                                                                                                                      “Seriously,” the hunters snapped back.

“First the fishermen want to destroy the wetlands and now the hunters want to sleep in the cabins what next, a zombie apocalypse?” Trenton angrily asked.                                                                                “Wait a second,” I exclaimed, “I have an idea!”                                                                                                   “To fix the problem with the hunters we can have reservations for the cabins!” I explained.                             “Oh yea, well how about the wetlands?” Trenton said.                                                                                        “I have solution for that,” Trenton said, “If they destroy the wetlands then the fish will have nowhere to spawn and all the fish will die.”                                                                                                                            “You two are right now let’s go, we have no time to waste,” Mr. D told me and Trenton.

Then we quickly ran over to the fishermen. “Wait!” I shouted to the fishermen.                                                                                                                                                                  “What?” The fishermen asked.                                                                                                                                 “Don’t destroy the wetlands because if you do the fish will have no shelter from the wetlands and they will all die!” I explained.                                                                                                                                                   Then a fish jumped as if where saying, “Save the wetlands!” “The kid’s right,” one man admitted.                          “I guess that we will have to live with a couple of snags”, one of the men replied.

After that we told the hunters about our idea and they agreed to having reservations and the O.E.C was saved! The whole class rejoiced after they found out that the O.E.C was saved. So then the O.E.C would stand for years and years to come.
