The Exploding Rocket!

Materials: Balloon, and tape.

Problem: The balloon poping problem

Focus Question: What variable is causing the balloon to pop.

We think the direction they pulled the tape made it go boom.

We will pull the tape from differant angles

First we had to think of the way that would give us the most probibialty. We thought that pulling  the tape forward would give us our best chance.

So first we tried  pulling the tape at 90 degrees and the balloon didn’t pop. Then at 70 degrees and it still didn’t pop. Next we did the same thing at 45 degrees and we got the same result. Then We tried pulling the tape at 10 degrees and it finaly poped.

I think even though we made the balloon pop I think that the direction they pulled the tape didn’t cause the balloon to pop because they would have to pull the tape at 10 degrees to make the balloon to pop and pulling that at that low was hard and would rather pull the tape at a higher degree.
